About the Role

We are currently seeking a qualified Electrician to support the ongoing operations and maintenance of Wandoan Solar 1, a large-scale solar energy facility in Queensland.

Working as part of an experienced on-site team, you will be responsible for conducting electrical maintenance, supporting HV and MV operations, and assisting in the coordination of subcontractors and other personnel. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical understanding of solar PV systems and experience in industrial or utility-scale electrical environments.

Key Responsibilities Operations & Maintenance
  • Conduct preventative and corrective electrical maintenance activities
  • Review OEM documentation and schedules to ensure compliance with operational requirements
  • Assist with the creation and refinement of inspection checklists and maintenance documentation
  • Monitor SCADA systems for faults, alarms, and events
  • Analyse performance data to identify optimisation opportunities and minimise downtime
  • Assist with the preparation of reports, logs, and compliance documentation
  • Help coordinate daily work activities for trades assistants, apprentices, and subcontractors
HV and MV Electrical Support
  • Participate in or oversee HV switching activities in line with training and competencies
  • Support maintenance and inspection of MV and HV assets in accordance with site requirements
  • Ensure safe work practices and adherence to isolation procedures and electrical safety standards
Qualifications and Experience Essential
  • Current QLD Electrical Licence
  • Experience with solar PV systems or industrial electrical systems
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety, compliance, and maintenance best practices
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, plans, and technical documentation
  • Familiarity with SCADA monitoring and basic fault diagnostics
