Our client is a specialist provider of Operations & Maintenance services to solar plants and Battery Energy Storage Systems worldwide. Managing over 26GW of utility-scale solar assets globally.
About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Site Manager to lead operations at a utility-scale solar and BESS site, overseeing the plant, site personnel and subcontractors while ensuring safety, compliance and performance targets are met. You'll report to the Area Manager and work closely with Asset Managers, Site Technicians, the Engineering team and a 24/7 Control Room.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising the operation of the plant and all site personnel
- Performing and overseeing electrical & HV works as required
- Reviewing work permits and ensuring HSE compliance across all site activities
- Promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring no unsafe activities are permitted
- Managing BOP plant (transformers, switchgear, cables, substation interconnections) and BESS
- Overseeing maintenance of inverters, associated electrical components and back-up power (generators/UPS)
- Working with the Engineering team on SCADA monitoring
- Promptly responding to alarms and directing repairs of faulty equipment
- Managing subcontractors and other site workers, including inductions and daily pre-start meetings
- Liaising with suppliers on tickets and warranty claims
- Planning and scheduling Annual Maintenance Tasks via Maintenance Procedures (MP), tracked through the CMMS
- Preparing and submitting reports as required, with timely documentation of all works performed
- Ensuring WHS reporting and adherence to company policies, WHS management plans and Emergency Response Plans
- Safety as a core value, with a strong commitment to WHS leadership

- Strong leadership, organisational, problem-solving and communication skills
- Confident with computers and comfortable interpreting plans, drawings and specifications
- Sound knowledge of renewable energy plant/equipment and current industry standards and best practice
- Willing to travel as required
- Current unrestricted Electrical Licence
- Trade Qualification – Electrical
- Construction White Card
- Current, valid Driver's Licence
- Valid First Aid (CPR) & Low Voltage (LV) Rescue
- Australian Work Rights
- Experience with data communications (SCADA, dataloggers, routers)
- HV switching qualification desirable
- Prior experience supervising or managing site teams
- Base salary + Super + Bonus + Allowances
